Welcome back, Wildcats!
We hope you are bundling up and ready to get back to campus. The first weeks of classes get busy really quick but we want to make sure you hear from us and learn about a few events and key dates that you won’t want to miss this semester.
If you are planning to go abroad over your summer break (Yes, summer break because it will be here before you know it!), you have to stop by our Advising Center and our Funding for Education Abroad workshop next week. Getting started can be intimidating and talking about finances may not be easy, but our Education Abroad staff can help you tackle this big #adulting topic. In addition, we have several resources such as a listing of our scholarships and creative fundraising ideas that you can check on our website.
Our workshop will take place 12-3 p.m. Thursday Jan. 26 at The Hub, W.T. Young Library. We encourage you to join us to learn about planning your budget, what to write/not write in a scholarship essay, and how to search for scholarships. The Writing Center will be available to review pre-written essays during the event in their office – also located in The Hub. Students with questions about academic scholarships and financial aid will also be able to talk to representatives from each office during the event.
Don’t forget it’s only 15 weeks until summer and so much is happening in between! Below are a few key dates you’ll want to mark down on your calendars:
- January 26: Funding for Education Abroad Workshop
- January 31: GoEuro European Study Abroad
- February 1: UK Education Abroad Scholarship
- February 15: Phi Kappa Phi
