I’ve had an absolute blast studying here in Melbourne, Australia. After living here for a little over three months now, I can understand why this city has been voted the “World’s Most Liveable City” every year since 2011. I would consider it the melting pot of the southern hemisphere as there are people and cultures from all over the world that create a truly diverse environment. When you live here, there’s not excuse for using the sentence “I’m bored.” There’s always something to do, whether it’s catching a match of Aussie Rules Football (AFL) down at the Melbourne Cricket Ground or the abundance of festivals that occur all throughout the year. Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) also is a great university to attend. They go out of their way to ensure that each student is well taken care of academically and the course rigor is comparable to that of UK. With the campus being located in the middle of the Central Business District (CBD) of Melbourne, you get to experience a very urban academic environment. One of my favorite aspects of the university though, is the large amount of international students enrolled. I’ve made friends from all over the world and I feel comfortable saying that some of these will become lifelong friends. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience thus far here in Melbourne and I look forward to what the final months hold in store.
