Why did you decide to study abroad?
I wanted to return to Germany and to experience a part of the country that I hadn’t been to before, while earning academic credit.

What classes did you take and how did they apply to your degree?
I took “Global Energy Issues” which applied as a core requirement.

What surprised you most about your host country?
Since I had been there before, not much surprised me; however, I was surprised by how much my German had improved from the last time!

What is your favorite memory from abroad?
The day trip to Heidelberg was a lot of fun and it was a really relaxing way to to spend a Saturday. It was beautiful weather and we were able to see a castle and climb a small mountain, then we were able to end the day by drinking a few beers and playing cards down by the river.

What advice would you give to students doing a similar program?
Make really good friends with some locals. The experience will be way better if there are locals there to show you around and let you know what is fun to do and what isn’t.
